Apricots we grow on our farm

Imagine a warm summer day, the sun shining down on rows upon rows of apricot trees heavy with ripe, golden fruit. You stroll through the orchard, the sweet aroma of apricots filling the air around you. Welcome to the delightful experience of u-pick apricots! At the farm, you’re given a basket and set free to wander amongst the trees, plucking the most perfect, juicy apricots directly from the branches. As you reach up to twist a particularly plump apricot free, you marvel at the velvety skin, blushing with hues of orange and red. You select only the best of the bunch, filling your basket to the brim with sun-warmed fruit. Kids dart between the trees, their faces sticky with apricot juice and their laughter ringing out. Picking your own apricots connects you with the beauty and bounty of the orchard, engaging all your senses in the delightful process of harvesting ripe fruit straight from the source. At the end of your picking adventure, you leave with a basket overflowing with the most flavorful, freshly-picked apricots, ready to be eaten out of hand, baked into pies and cobblers, or transformed into sweet jams and preserves to savor the taste of summer all year long.

Goldrich

The Goldrich Apricot is a cross between SunGlo and Perfection. The cross was made in 1954 by Harold Fogles. Goldrich trees are vigorous and productive. The fruit is large and oval with nearly equal halves of bright orange, and almost no blush. The ground color must be allowed to develop fully to assure low acidity. This apricot is freestone with a firm, deep orange flesh and a fine texture with excellent flavor. It is great eating with an initial sharp bite, which then eases into the sweetness of the fruit.

Rival

Ripens three to five days after Goldrich. Tree is vigorous and productive. Large, oval fruit is produced with a light orange skin and a red blush. The flesh is orange and has a smooth texture, low in acid and mild in flavor. Rival requires cross pollination. Can be used as a pollinator for Goldrich and Perfection.

Sugar Pearl

After you taste Sugar Pearls, you will be at a loss for words to describe the full-bodied, sweet golden-honey flavor of this incredible white apricot. Totally unlike any apricot (or any other fruit for that matter) you’ve ever tasted, bursting with sun-sweetened nectar.
